Lady Wray with Brainstory

Lady Wray, formerly known as Nicole Wray, is no stranger to the music business, having been featured on Missy Elliotts debut album and landing a top 10 hit with Make It Hot. Her latest album, Piece of Me, is a continuation of her previous record, picking up where Wray and Big Crown Records label co owner producer Leon Michels left off with Queen Alone. On Piece of Me, its still R&B with a heavy dose of soul, but you will hear boom bap smacked drums and chunky basslines front and center, creating a dense backdrop for Lady Wray to traverse. Hailing from Rialto, CA, two thirds of Brainstory, Kevin and Tony Martin are brothers by blood, while Eric Hagstrom is a brother through their music and long term friendship. Simply put, Brainstorys new album Sounds Good, lives up to its name with the bands unique blend of psychedelic soul permeating each track, as well as nods to Chicano rock flair that they grew up listening to.
